‘Tis the Season…

It’s December 1st which means that the Christmas season is officially upon us! I’m excited! I absolutely love Christmas…but not for the reason that many others do. I love Christmas because of the love that is shared during this time of year. Yes. I am fully aware that Jesus was not born in December and that this holiday is commercialized and has some “pagan” aspects. However, the true meaning behind Christmas is far greater. If Christmas was simply about buying and receiving gifts, muslims and other religions would be open to celebrating it…(just something to think on).

Anywho…that is not the purpose of this post.

”Tis the season that we remember the greatest Gift of all…Jesus Christ. This holiday isn’t about racking up even more than we do all year long. It is about our Lord and Savior giving of Himself for a dying world…so let’s follow His example and give of ourselves as well. ❤🎄🎁✝️

We are surrounded by so many people who struggle just to survive day to day…not live but survive! They are without food, water, clothes, shoes but we focus on buying our 5th Michale Kors bag or our 20th pair of Jordans. How selfish! I used to be like that. Making my Christmas list and giving it to my parents. Buying for myself at sales while buying for family members even though none of us needed anything. God changed my heart on that this year.

This year, Sowfull will be doing gifts for the homeless for Christmas.

My family and friends aren’t lacking and neither am I so I would rather help out those who have nothing.

An older lady once gave me a great idea for gift giving. She said she used to buy gift cards to food places and place them inside of New Testament Bibles, wrap them as gifts and give them to the homeless.

This is what Sowfull will be doing this year. I am not sharing this to brag or tell my left hand where my right be but I am sharing this idea to give you all an idea of how to spread Christ this year. We say that we pray that God will provide for the homeless and keep them warm but we are His hands and feet so maybe He is waiting for us to break the cycle of selfishness and greed and go out and do what we have been praying for.

If you like this idea, feel free to do it as well:

Buy mini New Testament Bibles and put $5 gift cards to Subway, McDonald’s, BK etc inside of the Bible by a highlighted verse about Christ!

Since the gift card is in the Bible they’ll have to open the Word to get it and they’ll definitely notice a scripture that’s highlighted!

Wrap the Bible in wrapping paper so that if actually feels like a Christmas gift.

The love gesture will mean so much to them.

It’s a perfect ministry opportunity.

I will be buying and collecting New Testament Bibles and gift cards to food places and Walmart. I will be highlighting  John 3:16 (for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.) Along with the Bibles and gift cards, I will also be giving out essentials that many people don’t think of giving to the homeless such as tampons and pads. (Most of you understand the necessity of those things.) I will also be giving out clothing, shoes, bags etc.

If anyone would like to contribute with gifts of clothing and shoes, Bibles, money/gift cards and/or toiletries, please contact me individually via email (sowfullservant@gmail.com) or phone if you have my number! I would appreciate all the help that I can get being that I’m in college and only have a part time job.

ALSO, if you’re going to be in GREENVILLE, NC during Christmas break and would like to help wrap and pass out the gifts, please let me know! Thank you! Merry CHRISTmas!

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:17
