Sowfull is 3!!! This is so amazing to me because, for those of you who may not know, I had never intended on making a blog and upon making the blog, I didn’t plan on doing ministry through it. Sowfull has gone from being the blog of a college girl to being a ministry that has reached people around the world showing them the love of Christ. I am so humbled and in awe of God! This is a God story!!
Sophomore year of college, a friend of mine who is really into blogging, held a blogging workshop that I attended just as a supporter. I wasn’t into blogging nor did I care to get into it. But where I thought I was just supporting a friend, God was intentionally setting me up for my calling. While at the workshop, they asked each of us what we’d like to blog about. To participate, I just answered off of the top of my head with “FOOD!”. I lived in Charlotte and enjoyed trying different restaurants and foods so why not blog about the foods I try? After much discussion, I decided to name the blog “Soulfood”. Unfortunately as we all sat in clusters purchasing our domain names I discovered “Soulfood” was already taken, so two people working the workshop sat around with me as we played with the word “Soulfood”. We recited it over and over again until Sowfull came about. It worked and was available so I went along with it.
When I got home, I began creating an Instagram for my blog. My first post stated that I was going to be doing a blog about food, but I’d be throwing in occasional posts about Christ, as well. I can hear God chuckling now because it never even got to become a food blog. Before I could even upload the first post on Sowfull, God told me it’d be a blog about Him, His love, His mercy, His grace, His guidance, His Word. Sowfull was going to be about being full of Christ and was for the purpose of sowing Christ into the lives of others and that’s exactly what it’s been and exactly what it will continue to be.
When I think of Sowfull, I think of 1 Timothy 1:12-17.
“I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord Who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry — one who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” — and I am the worst of them. But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate His extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 1:12-17 HCSB
I truly thank Christ for His calling me to ministry. When I look back over where I was, where I’ve been and even where I am now, I am nowhere near worthy to carry the Gospel and pour into others. I am not perfect, I fall short and have made some very stupid decisions in my lifetime (I’ll touch more on this in a post later this month) but God still chose me and called me to such a purpose as this and that I wish to never take for granted.
Ephesians 3:20 rings so true (as all of the Word of God does. Lol) I’m in awe and unbelief at what Sowfull has become in such a short time and what it is still becoming – all for the glory of God. None of this is my doing. It is all Christ. This is truly a God story. I would’ve never imagined to hold what God has entrusted into my hands. Three years later and Sowfull is thriving. After a logo, Sowfull brunches, Valentine dinners, Christmas clothing drives, Bible Plan groups, Bible Challenge groupmes, apparel and more, now Sowfull is in the final stages of getting its LLC and is in the process of finishing a trademark!!! God is truly up to something and I’m humbled and grateful to be a part of it.

The Future of Sowfull
The Lord’s plans for Sowfull are great and mighty, some of which I can’t even begin to fathom. But one thing I know, the next step is becoming a nonprofit so that we are able to receive grants to enable us to do more for the community and the Kingdom.

Sowfull also aspires to have the funding to be able to do mission work overseas. The Good News is far too good to keep to ourselves here in America, it MUST be spread around the world!! There are those in other nations who need to hear what we’ve heard and be introduced to Who we know. There are also many of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who are in need.

I would like to take the time to spotlight one individual who has been supporting Sowfull and even Sowfull Apparel since the beginning! She was one of Sowfull’s first subscribers and reads every post faithfully. I can always count on her to send me an encouraging word to keep going or comment on a post about how it has blessed her. This person is JASMINE HUBBARD!!
Jasmine is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (my alma mater whoop whoop!!! Go Niners!!) and is now a traveling nurse. Amazing!!!!
She created a travel blog in January of this year where she shares her experiences traveling for nursing and for leisure! Be sure to check out her blog and follow along as she goes on adventures!! https://www.travelwithjazzy.com/
Thank you Jasmine for being a beacon of light wherever you go. Anytime I see you you have a smile on your face. You are so supportive and beyond positive. Thank you for supporting the blog, for having attended things Sowfull has hosted and for even supporting the Apparel line. To say the least, you have had a major impact on Sowfull, and on me personally.
In the 4 years I’ve known you, I have literally never heard you say anything negative about anyone or anything. I’ve also never even seen you in a bad mood. Continue to shine bright for your patients and all you encounter. You bless others far more than you know!🙏🏽
