Be obedient and build. THEN God will send the overflow.
God sent Noah instruction to build a boat because He was going to make it rain. Noah having never seen or even heard of rain before could’ve doubted God...He could’ve hesitated building or asked God to send a sign of the promise before he began to build. BUT HE DIDN’T. He knew God was not a man (Numbers 23:19) that He should lie so if He promised rain, rain would come.
Noah went on and built the Ark - despite the ridicule he surely received from family and friends who thought he was crazy. When God gives you a glimpse of the future and you start building for what’s to come, those who have settled and are comfortable with what has always been will start to think you’re crazy. In spite of what others may have had to say, Noah focused on what God had to say and kept on building. He followed God’s instructions completely because his life, and the lives of those connected to him, depended on it. (Our obedience is bigger than us.) It wasn’t until AFTER Noah had done what God obstructed that the rain came.
If God promised you overflow and it hasn’t come, don’t doubt His promise...look at your preparation. Have you been building? God won’t send overflow until you’ve made preparation for it. He isn’t going to send you more than you‘re ready to handle.
Your overflow is predicated on your obedience to build.
““Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior.”
Genesis 6:14
“So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.”
Genesis 6:22
“They entered the boat in pairs, male and female, just as God had commanded Noah. After seven days, the waters of the flood came and covered the earth.”
Genesis 7:9-10
If God had sent the rain before Noah was done building, he would’ve drowned. God won’t send the overflow until you’re ready and able to manage and withstand it. A blessing received prematurely can kill you. Keep believing. Keep building. Your overflow is found in your obedience.
