What seeds are you sowing when you speak?
We hear often that life and death are in the power of tongue. (Prov. 18:21) However, I don’t believe many of us ever stop to think of just how lasting words are. Literally every word we speak is a seed that gets planted and bears fruit - fruit that in turn bears witness to the seed that was planted.
Negative seeds = Negative fruit
Positive seeds = Positive fruit
“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is a lie. In fact, I’d argue that words hurt worse than weapons and create wounds that last longer - though they may not be as evident.
The words we plant when speaking to others grow with them. They take root.
Make sure you’re planting seeds worth reaping. 🌱
“Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
